Conjuring Last Rites 2025
My review
The most terrifying part is the first one, but this one is quite alright too, there were plenty of goosebumps! They managed to worthily close The Conjuring tetralogy. I won't say the plot is more original than in the other parts, but it is shot very competently. Recommended for viewing!
The Conjuring: Last Rites: the Smurl haunting
The last case is based on the Smurl family of West Pittston, Pennsylvania. Jack and Janet Smurl, their daughters and Jack's parents shared a duplex house, and from the mid-1970s they reported strange smells, footsteps, banging and, later, violent attacks they blamed on a demon. In 1986 Ed and Lorraine Warren came to investigate and said the house was infested by several spirits. The family went public, the story made national news and became the book The Haunted and a TV film. Sceptics never found proof, and later owners of the house said they had no trouble at all.
